Meet the band: Johan de Haan

"Hi, I am Johan and I play the Keys and sing the backing vocals in the band from Anna Nita."

Who/what is your favourite artist/band?

I am really into jazz and soul orientated music, I love the music from jazz musicians like Keith Jarrett, Thelonious Monk and all these musicians, but am also influenced by the funky grooves of Medeski, Martin & Wood, and more Blues oriented stuff like G Love & the special Sauce, well I could go on and on…

I also write my own original compositions for my Band BB Three.

Why did you choose the piano?

I’ve been playing the piano since I was 6 years old, and never got tired of it, and probably never will.

What do you do when you don't play piano?

When I don’t play the piano I love to sing and write songs, and try out other instruments like clarinet and accordion.

What is your biggest dream?

My biggest dream is to make a long trip and see more of the world with my family.
